Terms and Conditions
1. Introduction
PM Solar provides collateral-free loans to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) for solar system installations. Our goal is to promote clean energy adoption and sustainability.
2. Eligibility
- MSMEs: We offer loans to MSMEs interested in setting up rooftop solar systems.
- Solar Manufacturing Companies: We also provide loans to solar manufacturing companies for business expansion.
3. Subsidy Information
- Subsidy Amount: Some eligible customers may receive a subsidy of up to ₹78,000 on their solar system installation costs1.
- Eligibility Criteria: The subsidy applies to systems up to 2 kW capacity, with a 60% subsidy on the solar unit cost. For systems between 2 and 3 kW capacity, there is a 40% subsidy on the extra system cost2.
Note: If you don’t receive the expected subsidy, please understand that it’s not within our control. We’ll do our best to guide you through the process, but external factors (such as government policies or eligibility criteria) may influence the outcome. Rest assured, we’re here to assist you every step of the way!
4. Warranty
Duration: Our standard warranty covers a period of 5 years from the date of installation.
- Coverage: During this period, PM Solar guarantees that the solar system will operate efficiently and be free from defects in materials and workmanship.
- Repair or Replacement: If any issues arise due to manufacturing defects or workmanship, we will repair or replace the faulty components at no additional cost to you.
Manufacturer’s Warranty:
- Solar Panels: The warranty for solar panels will be in accordance with the manufacturer’s datasheet. Typically, this covers a longer duration (e.g., 25 years) for power output performance.
- Inverter: The inverter (if included in your system) will also have its own warranty, upto 3 to 7 years which is usually provided by the inverter manufacturer.
Installation Warranty:
- The installation work will come with a warranty as specified by the installation team. This warranty ensures that the installation was done correctly and meets safety standards.
- Any issues related to installation (e.g., loose connections, faulty wiring) will be addressed promptly during the warranty period.
Maintenance and Care:
- Regular maintenance is essential to keep your solar system operating optimally.
- Follow the maintenance guidelines provided by PM Solar and the manufacturer to ensure longevity and efficiency.
- Routine inspections and cleaning are recommended.
Frequency: Cleaning your panels at least twice a month is a good practice. However, adjust the frequency based on your local environment (e.g., dust levels, pollution, weather conditions).
Time of Day:Clean the panels early in the morning or late in the evening when they are cool. Avoid cleaning during peak sunlight hours to prevent burns or damage.
Gentle Cleaning:
- Rinse First:
- Start by rinsing the panels with water to remove loose dirt and debris.
- Soft Brush or Sponge: Use a soft brush or sponge to gently scrub away any remaining dirt. Avoid abrasive materials that could scratch the surface.
- Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use harsh chemicals or detergents, as they may damage the anti-reflective coating on the panels.
Water Quality: Use clean, soft water (preferably distilled water) to avoid mineral deposits. Hard water can leave residue on the panels.
Safety Measures:
- Turn Off the System: Before cleaning, turn off the solar system to ensure safety.
- Use a Stable Ladder: If your panels are on the roof, use a stable ladder and take necessary precautions.
Inspect for Damage:
- While cleaning, inspect the panels for any signs of damage (e.g., cracks, loose connections).
- Report any issues to your solar installer promptly.
- Remember that keeping your solar panels clean helps maintain their efficiency and extends their lifespan. If you have any specific questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask!
Exclusions:
- The warranty does not cover damage caused by natural disasters (e.g., storms, lightning strikes), accidents, or improper handling.
- Physical Damage: Please note that if there is any physical damage to the solar panels (such as cracks, impact damage, or vandalism), it will not be covered under our warranty.
- Unauthorized modifications or repairs may void the warranty.
5. Loan Process
- Assessment:
- Evaluate your rooftop size, sunlight exposure, and energy consumption to determine if solar is suitable.
- Research solar installers and financing options (loans, Power Purchase Agreements).
- System Design & Permitting:
- Choose a qualified installer to design a system that meets your needs.
- Obtain necessary permits for installation1.
